Skid Steer Loader ECU Tuning
Skid steer loaders are compact machines that work hard in confined spaces — demolition sites, yard work, and material handling in tight areas. Their compact engines are tuned conservatively for the same reasons as larger plant — global market compliance and protection against misuse.
A skid steer remap improves hydraulic response for loader and attachment work, throttle calibration for better performance in confined spaces, and fuel efficiency across a full day's operation. Compact machines mean the absolute fuel saving per machine is smaller than on large plant, but the gain percentage is the same.
We cover diesel skid steers at our Pontypool workshop or on-site across the UK.

Benefits
Why Choose This Service
More Hydraulic Response
Better fuelling calibration means the hydraulic circuit responds faster to loader and attachment commands — quicker bucket fill, faster lift, and sharper attachment response.
Better Performance in Confined Areas
Improved throttle response makes the machine more controllable in tight spaces — demolition sites, indoor work, and congested yard environments where precise machine control matters.
Fuel Savings on All-Day Work
Skid steers running all day on site benefit from the same proportional fuel saving as larger machines — 8–10% efficiency gain on standard working cycles.
DPF Issues Resolved
Skid steers operating indoors or at low load are particularly prone to DPF blockage from incomplete regeneration. We address DPF faults at the same workshop or site visit.

Common Questions
Do you remap skid steers at the workshop or on site?
Both — smaller skid steers can be transported to our Pontypool workshop. Larger machines or those on active sites we attend on-site across the UK.
Do you cover track loaders (CTLs) as well as wheeled skid steers?
Yes — compact track loaders (Cat 289, Bobcat T770, Case TR340) use the same ECU systems as their wheeled equivalents and are remapped the same way.
Will the remap affect the attachment flow rates?
No — the remap calibrates the engine ECU only. Auxiliary hydraulic flow rates and attachment circuit pressures are set by the machine's hydraulic control system, not the engine ECU.
How long does a skid steer remap take?
1.5–2.5 hours at the workshop or on site. Compact machines are generally quicker than larger plant.
Can you fix DPF problems on a Bobcat skid steer?
Yes — Bobcat skid steer DPF issues are common and can be addressed at the same visit. Tell us the model and fault code if you have it.
