Excavator ECU Tuning
Modern excavators use the same ECU technology as road vehicles, and the same conservative factory tuning that leaves real performance on the table. Manufacturers calibrate for global markets and worst-case fuel quality — not for the demands of a full shift on a UK construction site.
An excavator remap optimises fuelling, boost, and torque delivery for the work the machine actually does. More low-end grunt for breaking hard ground and loading out, faster hydraulic response through the swing and crowd circuits, and better fuel efficiency across a long day.
We work with all major manufacturers across the full size range — from 1.5-tonne mini excavators to 90-tonne large excavators — and can address Adblue, DPF, and EGR issues at the same site visit.
What's Included

Benefits
Why Choose This Service
More Digging Force
Increased low-end torque means the bucket breaks ground harder and crowd force is stronger on tough material — clay, rock, or compacted fill. Machines that bog down on hard ground see the most significant improvement.
Faster Cycle Times
Better throttle response and power delivery through the hydraulic system produces faster swing, lift, and dump cycles. On a machine running all day, faster cycles reduce project time and fuel burned per m³ moved.
Fuel Savings on Long Shifts
Fuel efficiency gains of 8–12% are typical on excavators in standard dig-and-dump work. On a 20-tonne machine burning 10–14 litres per hour, that is a meaningful saving across a full project.
Adblue and DPF Solutions
Adblue faults, DPF regenerations, and EGR fouling keep excavators off-site at the worst moments. We address these at the same visit — one site attendance, machine back in production the same day.

Common Questions
Will remapping void my excavator's warranty?
If the machine is still under manufacturer warranty, a remap may affect warranty claims on engine components. Most construction equipment is well outside warranty by the time owners consider remapping. Tell us the age and hours and we'll give you an honest answer.
How much fuel can I actually save?
On a 20-tonne excavator in standard dig-and-dump work, 8–12% is realistic. Machines that currently run inefficiently or have conservative factory maps see the higher end. We'll give you a realistic figure for your model before you commit.
Can you remap an excavator with fault codes showing?
It depends on the fault. Minor codes don't prevent a remap. Active faults affecting engine operation need resolving first — our diagnostic check at the start of the visit identifies any issues before we proceed.
Do you cover mini excavators as well as large machines?
Yes. Mini excavators from 1.5 tonnes — Kubota KX, Yanmar, Takeuchi, Bobcat E-series, JCB 8008–85Z — are all within scope. The gains per litre are the same; the absolute saving is smaller on a smaller machine.
How long does it take on site?
2–4 hours for a standard excavator remap. Machines with emissions systems to address or fault codes to clear may take longer. We'll give you a time estimate when booking the site visit.
